Stanton Drew Primary School receive ‘Good’ Ofsted rating across the board

Following an inspection in October 2024 Ofsted has graded Stanton Drew Primary School Good in all five inspection areas.

The inspectors commented that the school is a place where “everyone is welcome” with a “culture based on nurture and care….. at the heart of the local community”. The pupils were described as “active citizens” and the staff as “proud to work for the school”. They also noted the highly effective introduction to school Reception pupils receive: “Children in the Reception Year make a strong start. The curriculum supports them to develop their knowledge in all areas of their learning. Staff consider carefully how to build the skills and knowledge that children need”.

Headteacher, Mr Tim Eustace, was delighted with the report’s findings, stating “I am so happy that the inspectors recognised what a special school Stanton Drew is and that they really felt the ‘family feel’ we have about our school. We are really proud to be a key part of our local community and I am so pleased that this was clearly evident to the inspection team.”

This was Stanton Drew Primary School’s first inspection since becoming an academy and joining Lighthouse Schools Partnership. The inspection was also under the new Ofsted framework in which single word judgements are no longer awarded. Stanton Drew is federated with Bishop Sutton Primary School which is also ‘good’ in all five areas following an Ofsted inspection in July 2024.

Following the publication of Ofsted’s report, Dr Gary Lewis, Chief Executive of Lighthouse Schools Partnership (LSP), said “Stanton Drew’s inspection report recognises the unique community feel of the school and the warmth of the teachers and leaders committed to helping pupils become well-rounded individuals and learners. The inspectors agree with our priorities to ensure that the school continues to flourish.”

Stanton Drew Primary School is open for pupils to join Reception in September 2025. Prospective parents can visit the school on Thursday 28 November for the School’s Open Morning – please visit the school’s website to find out more.
