Current Opportunities for LSP Staff

All LSP staff are invited to join this upcoming SEND webinar, hosted by Suzy Divine, Lead Teacher for SEND at Lighthouse Schools Partnership.

This session will focus on raising awareness and understanding of why some children and young people exhibit demand-avoidant behaviours. It will explore how their perception of demands can impact their ability to engage with classroom activities and cope in the wider school or community.

We will consider some approaches, techniques and strategies that may help to support individuals, whilst acknowledging the challenges and barriers that a demand avoidant profile can present.

This session will be recorded and will be made available after the event.

Research project opportunity

We are delighted to be launching a research community of educators from LSP conducting research on their own and their school's practice within the structure provided by the Chartered College of Teaching Certificate in Educational Research and Inquiry.

Colleagues from the School of Education at Bristol University have offered to support and host some of the activity.

We will be able to offer a small amount of timetable release to participants to help them write up their findings.

The programme would be ideal for practitioners considering a future Masters project or just interested in finding out a bit more about the processes, uses and limitations of action research.

You can find out more about this project here.
