On 21st January, students from across Lighthouse Schools Partnership came together for our first ever LSP Vocabulary Competition which was held at Churchill Academy. Students from each of our four secondary schools – Churchill Academy, Gordano School, Backwell School and Chew Valley School got involved in the competition, with entrants ranging from years 7 – 11. All of the entrants showed incredible skill and effort, with the following students winning first, second and third place in the final on 21st January: 1st Place: Alex, year 11, Gordano School 2nd Place: Jacoby, year 7, Chew Valley School 3rd Place: Bethan, year 10, Gordano School A huge well done to the winners, and to all those who entered the competition. Thanks to Churchill Academy's English faculty for hosting the Vocabulary Final. We look forward to sharing more of the upcoming inter-school challenges as they take place.

Churchill Academy & Sixth Form students will perform We Will Rock You [School Edition] from Wednesday 15th to Saturday 18th January 2025 at the Academy. This entirely student-led production promises to be a show-stopping experience for audiences of all ages. Freddie Cast: 15th & 17th January Brian Cast: 16th & 18th January Tickets for We Will Rock You [School Edition] are available now for £13.70 (general admission) or £9.38 (concession). Proceeds from the show will go towards funding the Academy's 2026 production of Legally Blonde The Musical. Get your tickets here:
